How to Explore Napa Valley Wineries Without Feeling Rushed

By platypustours, 25 August, 2026

At Platypus Wine Tours, we know the best way to enjoy Napa Valley wineries isn't rushing from one crowded tasting room to the next. We keep it simple, social, and totally snob-free. Our small-group tours are $139, seven days a week, with pickup around 10–10:30am and drop-off around 5pm, so you actually have time to settle in and enjoy the day. We take you to places where you can stroll the grounds, peek into barrel rooms or caves when available, learn how the wine is made, and never feel herded from one stop to the next.

Along the way, your guide shares stories, local history, and plenty of wine knowledge without turning the day into a lecture. We keep plenty of bottled water on hand and serve a tasty picnic lunch at one of the wineries. Tasting fees are separate and typically around $20–$25 per person, per winery—special rates we've arranged for our guests—and are often waived with a wine purchase.
