Summer Houseplant Care Tips for the East Bay

By Evergreen Nursery, 28 August, 2025

Summer in the East Bay is here! Here are 7 quick tips to keep your indoor plants thriving:

1️⃣ Water Wisely: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Deep soaks are better than daily sprinkles!

2️⃣ Boost Humidity: Group plants together, use a pebble tray, or mist leaves to keep humidity at the right level.

3️⃣ Keep It Cool: Avoid direct sunlight and air conditioning vents that dry out plants. Move them away from the heat!

4️⃣ Observe and Learn: Yellow leaves or pests? Listen to your plants and adjust care as needed.

5️⃣ Groom & Rotate: Remove damaged leaves and rotate pots every couple of weeks for symmetrical growth.

6️⃣ Plants Cool & Purify: Enjoy the calming effects and slightly cooler air plants provide.

7️⃣ Down-to-Earth Tips: Use room-temperature water, avoid repotting in extreme heat, and skip fertilizing during heatwaves.
